Remove Custom Search Firefox in Linux Mint

Firefox is a browser that is quite popular and widely used. With various advantages and additional add-on that can be used. Firefox is a powerful browser that has existed for many years. But one thing is quite disturbing to me when using Firefox, which is a custom Google search that automatically installed in the browser, I use Linux Mint and custom search is also performed by the vendor.

If we do the searching by opening the first page google, custom search does not appear, but if you use the search facility in the address bar or search bar you will automatically use the custom search.


Well, for that there is a way so that when we do the search through the address bar or search bar we will not redirect to the custom search. Here is the way that I use,

Backup then delete the file google.xml in firefox searchplugins folder, can commands,

sudo rm / usr / lib / firefox-addons / searchplugins / google.xml

Then create a file google.xml again and fill in the following code, then save,

Restart firefox, and on the search bar, now we can choose a regular Google search for our search. Replace google custom search with google search it. :)
